24. 3. 2026 16:00
H40, Hall 40 – space of The Chemistry Gallery
Bubenské nábřeží 306/13, Prague 7
We invite you to a (not only) travel lecture on the topic of Latvia – a country that sings, dances and paints. A conversation with a projection of photographs will take us to various cities, regions and national parks of Latvia. We will remind ourselves of what makes Latvia unique and what attracts visitors. We will get to know the Latvian landscape, history, cuisine and culture. We will introduce older and newer translations of Latvian literature into Czech, unique national song and dance festivals and the fate of the Latvian native, painter Mark Rothko.
The guides will be Josef Miškovský and Denisa Šelelyová. The lecture will be followed by a guided tour of the exhibition led by curator Diana Kněžínková.
The lecture is organized in cooperation with the Czech-Latvian Association as a part of the public program of the Collective memory is everything I don’t remember: Memories that are not our own exhibition.
Admission voluntary.
